James Patrick Kelly here. I write science fiction and fantasy. I've published a lot. For instance, I've won the Hugo award twice and the Nebula once. But what have I done for you lately?
A couple of years ago, I started posting mp3 files of me reading my own stuff on my website, www.jimkelly.net. Now I'm podcasting. Things change.

On The Net: FTL
Here is the debut of my new non-fiction (sort of) podcast. First up is "On The Net: FTL," originally published in Asimov's Science Fiction in June, 2004. Length: 17:11:13. File size 8.03mb
Yes, there's still intelligent life out here receiving your signals.
Congrats on your re-entry to the podosphere. Hope your tiles are well glued.
What do you call a podfader who, uh, unfades? I'm a neologist, but will have to think about that one and get back to you later.
Repurposing your old content? Why not? If it's good enough for HBO, Comedy Central and other corpasites, why not for sf authors?
Your second non-fic cast will be on Time Travel? Too bad FutureJames can't travel from his now and place it earlier in your feed. Maybe a joke about how 2012you went back and took some content from 2003you then shifted to 2006 and placed it in the feed?
2006me is looking forward to becoming the 2007me who is hearing your book. In the meantime, I'm timetravelling (slowly; 1:1) to that point in the TSC.
The typification of societies you mentioned is non-optimal. To be a relevant measure, the initial unit should be well below "entire planet" and the whole-number increments smaller. I guess folks who'd built a Dyson Sphere would be Type 2?
Podunfader... a Podigal Son? Slay the fatted calf, Jim's back! And some pun on "feed" would be good here. Methinks I better get over to the Urban Dictionary and register.
