Free Reads ~ James Patrick Kelly Reads Himself

James Patrick Kelly here. I write science fiction and fantasy. I've published a lot. For instance, I've won the Hugo award twice and the Nebula once. But what have I done for you lately? A couple of years ago, I started posting mp3 files of me reading my own stuff on my website, www.jimkelly.net. Now I'm podcasting. Things change.

LOOK INTO THE SUN Part One

Here is the first part of my 1989 novel LOOK INTO THE SUN. Free Reads is back! Time:27:37 File Size: 12.97mb

Comments:
I am glad you are back to reading yor fiction.

I am not sure if it was just me, but iTunes only got the first minute and 14 seconds of this file. I think I can just listen from the website, but in case other people had that problem, I thought that you should know.

I have had the same problem with this and the last 2 posts - tried to repeatedly download, only able to get partial files

Even trying to manually download the files, they are coming incomplete. You've got me on the edge of my seat, Jim! The first part cut out in mid sentence. You're killin me!! ;)

Please holler when you get the problem worked out.

This is supposed to be 12.97MB, but when you try to download it, there's only 64KB there. The MP3 file has been truncated on the server.

Ditto, having the same problem:

1) loving the story
2) experiencing unintentional "end of file" cliffhangers!

actually managed to get a full download of part 1, but can't get parts 2 & 3 complete, in spite of multiple tries.

looking forward to more Jim. the whole Jim. :-)

Thanks for the story! Unfortunately, only 10mb appears to be available. It cuts off at 22:25 min. :( Would love to hear the rest of part 1. Any suggestions?

Thanks again!

Still hoping to get the full first part! Still only getting 10mb of the 12.97mb promised. The file size reported by Firefox when downloading is 10.3mb and it cuts off right when we are about to hear what the Glass Cloud is! Ack! Thanks!

Yes, the file on www.archive.org is truncated at 10.8MB. They also have a zipped version of it and the MP3 inside the zip file is truncated in the same place.
